Castle Forest Campsite, Mount Kenya Forest Reserve

This part of the Mount Kenya Forest Reserve features a picturesque waterfall within walking distance of the campsite. If you’re prepared to brave the cold, you and your kids will enjoy swimming in the plunge pool. Similar to Ragati Conservancy, the area is rich in diverse native trees and abundant forest-dwelling wildlife—be on the lookout for colobus monkeys!

The campsite includes good facilities, such as flushing toilets, showers, and sinks for washing dishes. It is also not far from Castle Forest Lodge, which offers accommodation options if you’re with a group that includes non-campers!
