Lake Ellis is accessible by 4WD, but it is more trafficked and less pristine than Lake Michaelson. However, if you’re not up for the arduous hike to the higher reaches of the mountain, this is still a great camping option. Campers can enjoy leisurely walks along the lakeshore, birdwatching, and simply savoring the crisp air that this national park provides. Few facilities are provided beyond the small gazebo area for meals, so come prepared!
