This is an excellent choice for a short, comfortable camping trip from Nairobi. The campsite sits on 60 acres of land on the Malewa River, just outside the conservancy. The campsite is very comfortable, featuring a well-stocked kitchen and tents equipped with comfortable mattresses, linens, and pillows. The campgrounds are well maintained, making them suitable for outdoor activities or a cozy bonfire with family. Given its ideal location along the main Naivasha-Nakuru highway, Malewa Bush Ventures makes a perfect stop for a low-key camping or birdwatching weekend.
Kigio Wildlife Conservancy itself is relatively small—covering only 3,500 acres—but it is rewarding, with healthy populations of antelope, hyenas, and resident iconic (and endangered) Rothschild giraffes, which the conservancy was established to protect. If you're lucky, you may also spot one of the conservancy's leopards.
